FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does FreeStyle work?
Please see our HOW WE WORK page for a detailed description of our buying process.
What is FreeStyle looking for?
We accept clothing, accessories, and shoes for adults, sizes XXS-XXL, and all genders. We look for items that are in excellent, like-new, or gently used condition, name brands, current trendy styles, and items for the current season.
What are some brands that FreeStyle accepts?
Some brands we love include, but are not limited to:
Urban Outfitters, Levi’s, Nike, Madewell, Everlane, Zara, Free People, Brandy Melville, Abercrombie & Fitch, lululemon, Reformation, Anthropologie, Birkenstock, Dr. Marten’s, ASOS, and so much more!
How do your buyers know what to take and how does pricing work?
Our buyers go through an extensive training process and are in the know of current trending styles and brands. FreeStyle is highly curated and we want to offer the best of the best to our customers. We price based on a few different factors including: style, condition, brand, original retail value, and demand.
Do I have to wait for my items to sell before I get paid?
No! Unlike a consignment store, FreeStyle pays cash out right. You will receive your cash after our buyers have finished evaluating your items.
Do I need an appointment to sell?
Nope! FreeStyle buys on a first-come, first-served basis. You can drop off your items anytime and pick up your cash the following day!
What happens if I don’t pick up my cash or items by the next day?
Unclaimed items left in the store for more than 24 hours are subject to donation. Cash for items may be claimed up to 30 days after drop off.
What does it mean if FreeStyle passes on my items?
FreeStyle buyers go through hundreds of items a day and we can only take what we think we can sell and what our current inventory needs. If FreeStyle passes on your items, don’t let it discourage you from trying to sell again. We recommend going over our selling tips before dropping off!
Selling Tips:
- Clean and fold items neatly prior to bringing them in.
Does FreeStyle offer a consignment option?
FreeStyle does offer a consignment option for higher end designer brand items. Most items we buy outright on the spot. Consigning an item means you must wait for the item to sell before being paid. This allows us to price items at a higher price point, and you will receive 50-70% of the selling price back in a check after the item sells.
What are some items that FreeStyle does not accept?
FreeStyle does not accept: maternity, prom dresses, formal wear, business suits, undergarments, children’s clothing, jewelry, furniture, suitcases, or used swimwear.
What are your store hours?
See our LOCATIONS page for each FreeStyle location’s individual hours of operation.
What is your return policy?
All sales are final.
What is the Living Wage Surcharge on my receipt?
In an effort to continue keeping our prices low while paying our employees a fair living wage, a 3% Living Wage Surcharge is
automatically added to all purchases. All funds collected go directly to our employees.
Customers may opt out of this by informing their cashier prior to payment.

Selling Tips:
- Clean and fold items neatly prior to bringing them in.
- Check that items are not torn or stained, missing buttons, or have broken clasps or zippers.
- Consider the current season and temperature prior to selling. FreeStyle is more likely to accept items like heavy coats and sweaters in the winter, or tank tops and mini dresses in the summertime.
- Despite online claims, FreeStyle does not recommend cutting or removing tags from garments prior to selling. This practice will not increase the likelihood of an item being purchased, and actually decreases an item’s value overall.
