WHAT TO WEAR: Graduation

Hooray! It's graduation time! Congratulations to all you seniors who are just about to be finished with high school.
Regardless of what stage of life you're in, there are several fashion considerations when it comes to graduations. If you're a lady and you're going to be walking in a graduation ceremony, you're asked to wear a skirt or dress. But there are also graduation parties - you have your own party, your friends' parties, and sometimes all three events in one day! Here are some ideas on what to wear to each.
Graduation day:

We chose a cute neutral dress for Cloe that hits above the knee. The muted color of the dress won't clash with the color of her graduation gown, so she looks put together (even in an oversized robe). Consider the length of your dress for a graduation ceremony as well. You want it to be long enough that you're comfortable sitting in it but not so long that it will get tangled in your legs as you walk - who hasn't had nightmares about tripping on stage as you're receiving your diploma? Of course, the same goes for shoes. Find a pair that you're comfortable walking in but that also complement your outfit. A block heel is great in this situation, and it's right on trend!
Without your graduation gown after the ceremony, you'll be cool enough in the summer heat, comfortable in your shoes and ready to head to a celebration luncheon or some graduation parties.

Your graduation party:

If you're hosting your own party, you can go for something a little more dramatic. When you're the center of attention you want to look fabulous! We chose a flowy maxi dress for Claudia in a light summery print. These leather sandals are a good mixture of casual and cute, and since they're flats they help give the dress that dramatic floor-length look. Sandals are also super comfortable which is perfect on a day that you'll be walking around a lot to mingle with your guests.

Your friends' graduation parties:

On a day when it's not all about you, you'll want to look cute but not overdressed. Choose an outfit that is cute and comfortable. You could pair a denim jacket with a sleeveless top and a pair of loose shorts, or wear a flowy kimono.
Whether you're a graduating senior or a parent of a graduating senior, or if you're still in school, we hope you enjoy your celebrations in style!
Fashionably yours,
Julie Johnson

I think white outfit with brown shoes is the best combination. Black is also good but they are looking some formal type. So for me brown one is best.

You have really picked a good dress for this special day of graduation and I really want to admire you for sharing it. It was a good idea to be selective dressing that could draw the attention of every person.

It made sense when you said that wearing a neutral dress with muted colors will ensure our outfit doesn't clash with the robe. I'll be graduating from college in a few months, and I want to find an outfit and custom stole that will look nice with my robe. Thanks for sharing this article and helping me feel prepared to find the right dress to wear!
